Requirements of a Computer Algebra system for a 2d Simulation

Hi there. I am (still) working on a computer algebra system for a 2-d simulation - One involving shapes that are defined by parametric equations. It's going well, but i just wanted to ask a few questions. 1. How much of a fully-blown computer algebra system will i need to implement? At the moment I am working on the scalar equations side of things, but would I want to consider Matricies/Vectors too? 2. Also, differential equations keep coming up in the material on physics simulations I find. In this case this means solving a function which is in terms of a, v and r right? Are we talking first-order or second order differential equations, or higher? [Edited by - DaBookshah on March 18, 2006 7:53:20 AM]
