Before I can use glDrawElements, I have to un-pack shared data(depending what model file I open). This way each element can be read by the vertex indices, since you''re only aloud to pass one set of indices through glDrawElements. With huge models this takes up large amounts of space. Does everybody who uses glDrawElements do this? It''s the only way I can see glDrawElements working. I have a function that packs data too, but I don''t know of a way other than using glVector3fv...and etc to use them.

In case you don''t understand what I mean by data, I''m talking about pointers to: colors, normals, uv texture coords and vertices. In order for the element to work, as far as I know, you have to expand all shared data types.
