Controller Nodes and Animation in Scene Graph

I'm trying to create a robust animation system for my scene graph api. I encountered few articles many articles which discusses various issues about Scene Graph except for controller nodes that also deals with animation. If I've missed out please let me know. I need help on this specific topic, i.e. animation. one thing more - I'm trying to implement keframe animation, where the keys will be stored seperately and will be reused by instances whenever required. I considere using indices to let the storage class know about which position to start interpolation from in the key array, but the code is getting cumbursome. Is there any other way... -Obi
