FMOD help

Hi, im using FMOD for my game for all sounds, the problem is that the sound wont actually play unless there is a suspend for a key or its inside of a loop of some sort, it just wont play any sounds on events inside my game loop, the only way around it is i.e. bool played = false; do{ play sound etc played = true; while(!played) The only probem with the above example is it halts the game loop to play the sound obnviously. It doesnt work inside an if like if(bulletFired)play sound etc Any help? Thanks guys/girls

i think i've got the same problem with fmod...
i still did not find how to play a sound without blocking the game main loop...
