What I am attempting to do is make a java program which takes a directory path and find all images within it (easy enough), then goes to a website (?), enters the data on the images (for example for uploading), and gets results from the next HTML page (ie the url of an image). Any ideas on how to do this or am I barking in the wrong language? Thanks

No big deal.

You will need a HttpConnection instance. Open a connection with an URL, and use the OutputStream it provides for you to send the images for the upload servlet. Use InputStream to read back the servlet's response.
