Hello :) I want to get into game development. I have previous knowledge in PHP, C#, and some C++ and I am looking to make 3D games for Windows (or cross platform). Where shall I start? I'm not entirely sure how game programming works. What is a game engine? How do I use one? Hope you can help me :)

That was however a very useful article :)

Can you recommend a good 3D game engine for C++? Easy to use please :)

Hi,

you can inform yourself: 3DEngines.net.
I'd pick one from the 'Top 10 Open Source Engines' box.

Keep in mind that some are pure rendering engines (e.g. Ogre) while others are complete game engines and yet others are game libraries.
