gl ui's drawing texture to screen

hey, im trying to update my ingame gui class ATM i draw textures to rectangles and position them as close as possible to the screen... i noticed that running a game of mine on a pc with lower or higher screen resolution or resizing the window makes the ui look realy bad... what i am trying to do now is draw textures directly to the screen, hmm iv googled it several houres and find the same stuff about drawing to the frame buffer... it would be realy helpful if some could recomend ways of making nice ui's in gl, just drop a function if u like, give me a search word... or flame me for being stupid if u like :)

What you need to do is switch to an orthogonal projection matrix, disable depth testing, then render your interface. It's a lot easier than trying to determine where things should be, then hoping they render correctly.
