sparks in half-life

I don't remember what the sparks in Half-Life look like, but its probably a simple matter of animation a lot of little dots (or maybe lines).

Does anyone know how the sparks are rendered in half-life? They don't look like Quake2's sparks.

I don't remember what the sparks in Half-Life look like, but its probably a simple matter of animation a lot of little dots (or maybe lines). You could also add in alot of additional things to make it look better (motion-blur, alpha-blending, etc.).
