On a superficial level, think "Java-platform" but with many languages.

On a more technically correct level read the article below:

"The Microsoft .NET Framework, more commonly known as simply the .NET Framework, is a software development platform created by Microsoft. ..."

O.k so before the moderator squashes me... I have the domain Password.NET. Can that be use in some way in the .NET arena? Microsoft owns PassPORT.NET and I get a 1000 emails intended for them, etc...

All I want to know is if there is a fit in the .NET framework for my domain. Security maybe.

I'm in the .NET forum asking about .NET so I hope I'm o.k.

Regards,
Ron

OK rjunique, please compare the following two articles:

.NET Framework
.net (the top-level domain)

This forum is about the first one - the programming framework. The second one is what your question is about - the "internet thing".

We do have a forum for "internet things", it is over here. And we have a forum for "business things" over here. Your posts would probably be more welcome in one of those two locations. (but probably not by much...)
