External texture on X File Model

hi, I want to load a X File model and then i want to put texture on that model , the model is car and texture is in bmp format like how any car texture we make....so what article/book etc should i read for it, for complete reference? Thanks in advance

Hey

The easiest method for external textures in a .x file is open it up in notepad, look for the tga/bmp/png whatever and replace the path.

You can also use tools like Deepexploration(www.righthemisphere.com) which help alot!
