What libraries should I use for connecting C++ with HTTP-PHP/MYSQL?

Recommended Posts

Yes, thats right, how can I read information from a MySQL database on a website, for example, localhost or www.foo.com? Thanks, i'm just curious [smile].

I'm not really well skilled with loading webpages. My guess would be that you could use a TCP/IP socket (via winsock), and then use HTTP/1.0 or HTTP/1.1 spec to get the data. Another way is the newer winhttp api. Both are documented on microsoft. I can't really say which is better suited.

Well if you actually want to connect to the database you'll want to use the MySQL C API, or the C++ wrapper around it MySQL++.

However if this is a database you've got on your website hosting you may find it'll only accept connections from localhost in which case you'll need to write a server side script to get what you want from the DB and get your application to interface with that.
