should be a relatively easy question: i need to make a flat ground plane for my game - 10 x 10 in the units i'm using. i'd like to have a texture tile on each 1x1 patch of the ground. what's the fastest way to render a tile textured plane in GL? is there some sort of primitive? let me know what the fastest, most efficient way is. thanks!

The primatives you're after, are known as quads. Providing the ground doesn't change, you could always use a display list to render it, otherwise you might want to look into vertex arrays.
