using emacs as an editor in visual studio
Does anyone know of a way to use emacs as the embedded text editor in visual studio.
I saw that vs.net 2005 has emacs key bindings, which is cool, but obviously doesn't have elisp scripting, which is pretty much a must for an emacs user.
I also saw that someone wrote a small app that uses COM to drive vs.net so you can develop in emacs and then call elisp methods to script vs.net to build/debug/etc, which also isn't quite what I'm looking for:)

Hey Ollie
Thanks for the link. ratings++ for your help! I've tried that and unfortunetly all it does is send the file to emacs directly, if you can even get it working:)

You'll have to write a host plugin. Luckily for you, this isn't terribly difficult in VS2005, although it's not trivial either. Here's a jumping-off point.

Thanks for the post, but again it won't quite do what I'd like. I tried that and unless I'm missing something it wont let me replace the built in editor, so no elisp scripting which is arguably the most important part of using emacs.
