Hi, I'm trying to create a universal hack that will move the camera position left and right for any game using directX 9. My idea is to hook into the SetMatrix function (since most modern games use this to set the view matrix). Yet, I won't know the name of the view matrix that I want to change. I have been told that this will be impossible, but I was just wondering if anyone knew of a way that I could accomplish the goal of creating one hack that will find the right matrix and move the camera for a bunch of games. Thanks, Lance

I would be surprised if you got this working correctly. Muhammad's [C++] Direct3D hooking sample thread might well provide some useful information...

Older games will be using SetTransform( D3DTS_VIEW, ... ) and newer games might be using SetMatrix( "???", ... ) whilst others might just be uploading constants to a "pure" vertex shader. Especially in the shader situation its likely that the application will pass a single concatenated World*View*Proj matrix - trying to modify just the view elements of that isn't going to easy.
