My computer says i have directx but when i try to play a game it says i do not have directx

Alternativly, use the webinstaller. IIRC, this is now the prefered way of installing DX. This installer also installs the Managed Runtimes, which in the past have not been included in the standard redistibutables.

EDIT: Oh, the first was also a link to a webinstaller.

I should have explained it more u know the thing that pops up and tells u if your system meets min requiment its all checked out including the directx thig but there is a question mark by display device, dislay driver, and sound driver saying "the compatibility of this device is unknown

Did you try installing the latest drivers for the cards? What system do you have btw?

I'm not shure how to if you could tell me how that would be great

Display Device is nvidia geforce 6200
Display driver is nv4_disp.dll
Sound Driver is alcxwdm.sys

You can find the latest driver at nVidia's Drivers Page.

I don't recognize the sound driver, but you should be able to look up the name of your soundcard, and google (that is, searching for it on Google.com) for a fresh driver.

By 'system' I meant 'hardware' [smile].

If you want help you should at least try explaining you problem.

That doesn't tell much. What exactly went wrong? You weren't able to donwload the driver? you couldn't install it? you've managed to install it but it made no difference ?
