Include/lib directories

Recommended Posts

I installed the most recent Platform SDK and thought, "I dont need the old stuff" so I cleared them out, now I get lots of linker errors. [smile] I'm using VC++.NET 2003, I need someone to have a look in tools > options > projects and have a look at what include and library directories I need to add.

Assuming you installed the Platform SDK to the usual location, you'll need C:\Program Files\Microsoft Platform SDK\lib and \include. If you installed the SDK someplace else, use that path (instead of "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Platform SDK").

Ahhh, gotcha - I read that backwards. Here's what my (more or less stock) VS2k3 install has, minus some cruft from the DirectX SDK and a few other things:

Executable files
$(VCInstallDir)bin
$(VSInstallDir)Common7\Tools\bin\prerelease
$(VSInstallDir)Common7\Tools\bin
$(VSInstallDir)Common7\tools
$(VSInstallDir)Common7\ide
$(FrameworkSDKDir)bin
$(FrameworkDir)$(FrameworkVersion)

Include files
$(VCInstallDir)include
$(VCInstallDir)atlmfc\include
$(VCInstallDir)PlatformSDK\include\prerelease
$(VCInstallDir)PlatformSDK\include
$(FrameworkSDKDir)include

Reference files
$(FrameWorkDir)$(FrameWorkVersion)

Library files
$(VCInstallDir)lib
$(VCInstallDir)atlmfc\lib
$(VCInstallDir)PlatformSDK\lib\prerelease
$(VCInstallDir)PlatformSDK\lib
$(FrameworkSDKDir)lib
