Sure it's only a demo, but I think it shows off what the PS3 will be able do and more importantly for me how good the next installment of MGS will look and I hope will be great to play. I will probably buy a PS3 with the sole aim of playing this game.
I have not felt this excited about a game since Half Life 2!
Metal Gear Solid 4 - Realtime Devkit Demo!!!
I have always raved about Metal Gear Solid 3, which I must re-iterate is the best PS2 console game I have ever played, not that I have played loads of PS2 games, but it's still the best of the ones I have played. I would put it up there with Half Life 2.
Here is a link to Metal Gear Solid 4 running in real-time on the PS3 Devkit, with the developers playing around with the camera, lighting, shadowing and colouring etc all output in High Definition.
Wow, the depth of field focusing technique is amazing.. and the way they represented Otacon is mindblowing. PS3 is going to look great.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
It looks like a prerendered movie! PS3 is going to pwn the XBox360 so hard (but Ninendo Wii will still be teh funniest). I love that you can see the indivudual lcd screen pixel in the game.Tip to mod: Move this to a bit more crowded forum. Everyone should see this.
Yaaaaawn. Wake me up when they're still doing all of that and they've gotten everything else in the game implemented as well.

You need to get out more.
AITD5 looks just as good, besides, when has Sony shown in-game footage and been telling the truth?

I believe that it is in game footage, but from the PS3 DevKit.
Only when it hits the real deal PS3 will we be able to know for sure if they are lieing or not.
Btw, this demo was not released by Sony, but by the developers of MGS4.
I really liked the LCD monitor effect - a simple idea. All those shaders work together so well the effect is amazing.
