Cell Shade lighting problems...

I'm trying to calculate positional lighting shading values for my model, but I can't figure out why it always only shade one side of the model, even after I rotate the model. I followed the article here by first getting a vector from vertex to light position, normalize, then finally calculate the dot product of new vector and vertex normal for the shading value. What am I missing?
