I guess this isn't strictly about .NET but I figured this was a good place to ask. I'm using VS2005 to generate the MSI's, if that makes any difference.
  1. Frequently I need to run a command from my MSI's when I'm installing them. The way I've been doing it is writing a .vbs script, including it in the MSI, and running it during install. That seems like a pretty stupid way to do it though. Plus it opens a cmd shell and doesn't look too "professional." Is there a better way?
  2. If I want to run a program that the guy installing the MSI might not have on his machine, is there a way to include it in the MSI and be able to run it but not have it stay in the installation directory after the install finishes?
