I am brand new to programming anything and I really want to program either my motorola Razor or my Palm zire 72 but I have no idea how to do it. What Language should I use? I am thinking Java but I dont know. And Then what programs do I need (e.g. Emulators, compilers). Also where can I learn how does anyone know of any tutorials or books ( preferably books) that I could read. Any help would be great. Thank You.

Java ME would be the language.

You can get Motorola emulators here.

Oh, and check the FAQ.

If you don't want to learn java right yet, try these (palmOS):

SmallBASIC
OnBoard C

With those you can develop right on your palm, and with OnBoardC you can create real, commercial quality programs.

*Shameless Plug:* If anyone wishes to join a dev firm, please e-mail me at defatgonzos@yahoo.com. I just started one and I need some help. Or you can goto my project's home page (which I'm not sure works yet )

(maybs a link would help, eh? www.geocities.com/defatgonzos/vendetta)

What is the Carrier for the Motorola Razor (ie, Sprint, Cingular, Verizon) as this is dependant upon what language you will need to know for your phone.

for programming the Zire 72, I very much recommend getting plua.

Palm programming is hard enough as it is, and plua makes it roughly 1332x easier.
