Well, this is a very newbie question, but i still don't have a clue about this matter. I have defined a sun light with the glLightfv function. Ho do i deal with it when i pan or rotate the whole scene ? Suppose, for example, that i have a terrain with some objects on it: when i rotate the camera, should the light position rotate as well ? I.e., do i have to multiply initial light position by the current matrix ? Thanks for any help.

This depends on how you rotate the camera. Could you show us some(read:a little) code of how you rotate the camera? However, chances are that the light will rotate along with the rest of the scene.

AFAIK when you specify the light position, opengl automatically multiplies it with the current modelview. Then you should only be sure that the modelview matrix only contains the view matrix when you set the light position in world coordinates.
