I want know, why I can´t compile this program at windows 2000. the program is: http://www.inf.pucrs.br/lfraga/OpenGl%20Project.zip When I try to compile this program in a machine with windows XP, it work. But, when I try to compile in windows 2000, this errors happens: c:\Documents and Settings\silvano\Meus documentos\Visual Studio Projects\Multitexturing\OpenglHeader.h(37): error C2501: 'OpenglHeader::PFNGLACTIVETEXTUREARBPROC' : missing storage-class or type specifiers I already get the newest gl. I use the visual studio .net with windows Xp and visual studio .net with windows 2000. The program is the same, the libraries are the same. The only difference is the OS. Why PFNGLACTIVETEXTUREARBPROC don´t work with windows 2000? thanks

Obviously the GL_ARB_multitexture extension isn't defined by the header. How about encapsulating the function pointer in an #ifdef GL_ARB_multitexture/#endif cage?

Otherwise you might want to supply your own version of glext.h, then you're sure that you've got the required extensions defined.

Even better, you could use SDL (http://www.libsdl.org/) and let it worry about extensions (and platform specifics).

You could also use GLEW (http://glew.sourceforge.net/) for handling extensions.

Solutions are plentiful. :)
