I create a model and then export it in .obj format into my openGL project. Along with that create materials library ( by checking on "using materials" and creating material library) but my .mlt file looks like this : # Max2Mtl Version 4.0 Mar 10th, 2001 # # EOF And when i try to render it; i receive errors that there is no materials found for the model. Daaaa!!! Is there any plug-in for 3dmax 8 that needs to be installed ? or where is my mistake ? I'm new to 3d modeling, therefore any tips, suggestions on links to useful information are extremelly appreciated. Thanks

I also had problems with exporting .obj files from 3DSMax (normals were totally messed up).
To get around that, I did following:
Downloaded Milkshape 3D, export my scene as .3DS from 3DSMax, imported that in Milkshape, and from there exported to .obj.

That did it for me - maybe that helps
