Hey everyone, its me kozmonaut. Im a reguler on Efnets "Gamedev" channel. Kingdom of Auspiex Online is a 2D MMORPG (Massive Multi-Player Online Role Playing Game) It has been developed using Positiality Knights Version 1.0 Pure Ruby game Engine, orginally created by Enderbrain Software Japan. The server/client software was written in Ruby Script, Phyton, C++ and Lua by GoldenAura3 and Destined of Australia. The gameitself is a throwback to the glory days of two dimensional rpgs such as breath of fire, lufia and the fortress of doom, and final fantasy 2. Adding modern twists such as online play, party grouping of player characters and PVP, KOA has something for everyone. Kingdom of Auspiex Online features over two hundred non player characters and over six quests to contribute towards a long lasting player experience. This game is set in the original concept fantasy world of Auspiex, a world stricken with fiendish denizens, conflicting human cities, and various societies. Everyone serves their own personal agendas, people flock to the bigger kingdoms for protection against the beasts that maraud throughout the land and brigands that seek to siphons money into their pockets from the common people. The core activity of the game play is basking in a fantastic multi user environment where you can adventure, talk to, and eventually form player socieities, and full PVP. Individual players are encouraged to explore a wide expansive land, and carving out their names in legends. Because this is a multi user environment players have the freedom to do virtually anything they want in the game from forming their own guilds, to becoming specialists in creature handling and capture, to becoming a master chef, to becoming a guild leader of the cleric’s guild. The heavy emphasis on this game is letting the player determine their own experiences and direction of game play. Key Features The ability to choose between eight initial player classes Engaging in politics between cities, villages and kingdoms Choosing between 12 different epic professions Over 200 skills and magic spells Selection over 60 different starting character templates Fully animated 2d action battle system Random encounters in the form of on screen monsters Forming player societies and kingdoms Transportation from player mounts, to carriages, to ship faring vessels to airships Extensive player vs.player combat Day and night system Astounding audio soundtrack and special effects 60 different player quests Multi-class and class specialization system Epic level zones for large groups and guilds this game is in alpha testing, and i would really like some feedback on things that i can improve upoun. You may elect to respond to this thread if you have any questions, converns, bug reports, or props :) the download link is http://www.drunkencoders.com/KAOL/kingdom%20of%20auspiex%20online.msi Credit List: Destined Shadow Goldenaura3 Eternal_Magus Lilkev2k5 Suicidemanic Zeldathehucast RaTTiE XRXS Prexus Near Fantastica Kacakz Tim rowe the inquisiter Ultyma Zelda Coca CyberSam Astro_mech Diego Deke Dubealex Guillaume777 SlipKnot Fanha Giang Genzai Kawakami' Rataime JmsPlDn Paul at hostdime And Many More! ps. I know people automatically dismiss any online rpg, or mmorpg as being to far fetched, need massive servers and such. Those are valid concerns. I belive in starting on a very small scale and expanding. Not makeing a huge game world with only a segmented area in development. All zones, npcs, ai, and quests are under constant revision to elevate the play experience, and the game grows as the community grows. [Edited by - kozmonaut on May 27, 2006 2:46:24 AM]

things that bothers me is that you have to use the same key a few times before it appears on the screen, but I saw that is being fixed. Also another thing, are you supposed to be able to buy anything in the spell shop? Cuz I cant. And how do I use spells? :P

Thanks for your suggestions! I have updated the Download link so it should work fine now, with no manual transfers. Just be sure to install it on your c: drive only. Currently the ranged magic code is being revamped, and is not functional, cleric magic is, because you initiate it from the main menu, and can haste heal spells on yourself and stuff!

Aside from the magic shop, do you have any suggestions, or concerns, things visuall i can make it look better?

I really want feedback from everyone, im currently grading from school soon, and am working on my demo reel. I am going for a level designing/game desinger and includeing this game into my reel, what can i do to make it look better?

Some stuff that can be improved, for example when you talk to the class people in the beginning, If I start to talk to someone I have to wait until he's done talking, maybe add an option to stop talk? Also there is a bit delay if you press esc.

Also another thing when you for example kill a rat. It says
You begin to harvest the vitality from "a rat". Maybe make it say
You begin to harvest the vitality from a "rat". :P

There would also be good with a level up message so you know when you get a level :-)

Another thing, in the menu it says hp and sp, and in the top right corner when you play it says hp and mp

Also make it possible to move over enemy corpses

If you get gameover and you load your saved game, the gameover window pops up again even when I didnt die.

Does the monsters respawn?

Thats all from me atm

EDIT: As I entered the town of Mir it teleported me into a wall instead of the entrance :P
