Is a D3DLIGHT9 device dependant?

D3DLIGHT9 is a structure according to MSDN. So I don't see why you'd need to recreate the data in the structure since it should stay in the memory.

But, you will have to re-enable the lights and set the light sources on the device when it is reset.

Yes. You could just test it and find out [smile]

When the device is reset, you have to treat it as if it's just been created. That means you need to reset everything since the device was created (With the sole exception of non-default pool resources).
