Exporting particles from 3DSMAX

Is it possible, either normally or by some plug-in, to export all properties of a particle created in 3DSMAX? I tried ASE, but it does not export any of the properties for the particle emitter (like Speed etc.), only materials and geometry.

should be possible either with maxscript or by using the SDK to create a proper exporter.

as for why someone would want to do it. my guess would be to provide the artists with a way to use a tool the are familiar with for setting up particle emitters.

Exactly. It is a good thing to allow artists to use their favourite 3D Art application for the creation of most in-game content.

Look at particle.h and IParticleObjectExt.h in the Max SDK. Also doing a search for particle and particleobject in the SDK includes pulls up lots of interesting stuff. I haven't tried exporting a particle system object yet, but its on my to-do list.
