i'm trying to "convert" a shader to my dx9 program from the render monkey samples. it's used for rendering a skybox and water... i think i've got it except that the textures are screwed up on the cubemap. the first screenshot is from far away, 2nd is closer, and third is the closest... it just seems like i'm missing a samplerstate or something. if anyone has run into this same problem please let me know what you did to fix it :) img1 (furthest away) img1 (getting closer) img1 (up close)

Well, I barely know any Direct3D, but my two guesses would be:
  1. You're doing a 2D texture lookup, not a cubemap texture lookup. (most likely)

  2. You need to normalize your texture coordinates' xyz before doing the cubemap lookup (less likely)
