How to detect a client is behind firewall?
Trial and error.. try to connect to them, and if you fail they''re most probably behind a firewall of some kind.
Of course you could also let the users specify whether they''re behind one, but users are generally the most unreliable part of the system

If the ip address according to the client is different than the ip address acording to your connection, then they''re behind a NAT (which means a firewall of some kind is there). That could prevent someone from the internet initiating a connection to thier computer.
