Point Sprites & Textures

hi! I have a question on D3D8 point sprites and textures. I have a prog that uses a lot of pointsprites (400+), but they have all a different Texture. Does I really have to use the drawprimitive routine like this?: for(int i=0;i<400;i++) { pd3dDevice->SetTexture(...); pd3dDevice->DrawPrimitive( D3DPT_POINTLIST, i, 1); } There is no vertex which includes the texture id, is there(it would not really make a sense if)?
