dx8 - point sprites

My point sprites seem to scale themselves as i move closer to them or farther away. For example as i move farther away they get bigger and as i get closser to them they get smaller. Basically i just want them to behave like any regular polygon, as i move away from them i want them to get smaller, as i get closer i want them to get bigger. If i disable the scaleenable state and supply my own size, my points then get rendered in screen space. So say i set 10 units for the size, it gets rendered 10x10 pixels on the screen no matter were the camera is. I''d like to somehow disable the scaling and draw them in world space so i can get the projection matrix applied to them. ECKILLER
