dropping your own DX engine ( not managed ) into C# app

hi guys, currently for tools programming I create a standard MFC app and drop in my own engine that I also use for game programming. I was wondering what are the pitfalls ( if any ) of using C# with my existing unmanaged DX engine. Will it work straight off? etc...? cheers in advance,

I attempted to drop my engine into a managed C++ project and it ended up being such a pain in the ass that I just gave up. If anyone knows of how to do this, a tutorial would be greatly appreciated because it would be awsome to use forms to make an editor (since they are really user friendly). I know it is possible, but ive yet to see an example of it done successfully.
