A) Reboot (for sure)
B) Check if the cl.exe is in the "bin" folder of the Visual Studio installation
C) Check in the general settings if the bin folder is included in the "executable folder" list.

cl.exe is the Visual C++ compiler.

Funny how you can not know the simplest of things :P

I get that error - when my system resources are low. I also have had it happen with link.exe. A reboot solves my problem, but is annoying because i loose all my undos.

Usually it helps to use the clean up (i.e. remove all builds) functionality of VS. and shut down VS and restart it.

I got some questions here.
- The cl.exe i found in the >Microsoft Visual Studio\VC98\Bin, is that correct?
- I can't found the "executable folder",can have a point of direction?

Thanks!

Try: Tools -> Options -> Projects and Solutions -> VC++ Directories -> "Show Directories for: Executable Files".
Check if you have "$(VCInstallDir)bin" in the list.

P.S:
This is for VS 2005, but it should give you an idea of where to look...
