The best format of distribution in case of WinXP game is definedly an installer executable, but building one can be a drag. There are dozens of different software (i.e. Advanced Installer, Inno Setup) to do this, so I'm (again) asking you wiser ones; Which is the best freeware solution of doing this? If there really isn't any trustworthy installer creator, is there a (totally) freeware file compression software then? It pretty much has to be "totally freeware"; I don't want any layers banning on my door... PS: I know this is not perhaps "for beginners" nor even programming, but I really didn't where to else post it.

ZIP or other packaging system, installers sucks!

then you make some small embedded program which will be executed when your game starts first time, if your program needs setupping up...
