directx- direct draw problems

Ya so when i tried to reinstall this game i have and whenever i try to do a video test it says that i have a problem with my direct draw and that it is unable to run. But when i run a diagnostic on my directx it says everything is fine. Does anybody know what the problems is.
Due to the vagueness of your question/problem, the best course of action I can recommend is ensuring you have all of your latest video card drivers. And of course at least DirectX 7. [grin]
Aside from that, it smells like it might just be a plain incompatibility issue. Older games that use DirectDraw have a tendency to just "not work" on XP for whatever reason. But yes, definitely give the video drivers route a go. [smile]
