How on earth is collision detection handled in worms? worms2?

Position of Worm.....
pixel bounding....

check if pixelbounding.max.x + 1 land.
check if pixelbounding.max.y + 1 land.
check if pixelbounding.min.x - 1 land.
check if pixelbounding.min.y - 1 land.

4 tests... ;o) Probably they do some further checking to see if it''s really land or just a little sprinkle in the air...
