About profiling...

I know what profiling is, but I never used it because I didn't realy need it before... But now there's another story and I don't know how to start with, I mean what profiling tools can I use? I'll be more than happy to find out the timing of each part of my programs... My projects are based on MS Visual C++ and DirectX; can you help me? [smile]

Just timing different parts of you code yourself is usually good enough to find bottlenecks.. aside from this I regurarly use NVPerfHUD (you need a nVidia card for this, an other option is PIX...) to find rendering bottlenecks, and from time to time I use VTune or CodeAnalyst for cpu-stuff.
