Hi, I'm currently drawing a mouse cursor in my game by grabbing the x and y coords of the windows mouse and drawing a textured quad from that location. It works fine, but I noticed that the response of the mouse is a bit sluggish. It doesn't feel as responsive as normal. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if they managed to get around it. I notice on some commerical games that you can switch on a 'hardware mouse', but I've googled and can't find out what this is. Any help would be appreciated.

Using the hardware mouse means that the game changes the default windows cursor to its custom graphics. So instead of disabling (hiding) the mouse cursor, you should assign a new image to it. The format of this windows resource can be found on the msdn site.
