Windows Control Question

Recommended Posts

Hi, I often see that Key-Value-Pair Control in Win32-Programs. (Where you have a grid with two column, and N rows. Each row consists of a static key and an editable value field, I hope you know what I mean). I wonder if that's a regular ListView, or other common control, or a custom control in each case... bye, Chris

I think you're referring to what's known as the PropertyGrid control in .NET, although C++ implementations also exist. This is an example of one; Code Project has others.

And to answer your question, the .NET version is part of .NET. The others are either built from scratch or heavily customized common controls.

You can do that easily with a ListView in report view mode (LVS_REPORT window style.)

I doubt that .NET's control is very common at all in comparison to ListView or other win32-based custom grid controls, of which there are many to chose from and have been around since '95 days.
