Well I checked out the page which told you how to get started and it told you to read C++ primer third edition. But then I later found out that there is a fourth edition. So my question is which is better?

I don't think there will be major changes between the two,go with the 4th one any way.

Ok, thanks ;)
That For Beginners Page is horribly out of date. I really wish they would update it because it could be so helpful. It is now mostly just out of date directX tutorials. Take anything said there lightly.

The 3rd edition seems quite out of date now. I would go for the 4th if you can. The 3rd edition does not cover exception handling, or the C++ standard library.
