dx cursor problem in windowed mode

trying to get the dx mouse working in windowed mode...it bounces all over the place. no idea what the deal is. it works fine in fullscreen. i load a texture, get a surface etc... m_pd3dDevice->SetCursorProperties ( 0, 0, pSurface ); m_pd3dDevice->ShowCursor ( TRUE ); do i even have to set the cursor pos. every frame? it seems to do it itself. any ideas? programmer_tom

If the SDK is correct, my post will not be helpful... but just in case :)

The win32 ShowCursor function is not an absolute value... ShowCursor(TRUE) does not actually show the cursor, it simply increments a variable. So if you have multiple calls to ShowCursor(FALSE), then ShowCursor(TRUE) must be called that many times to actually show the cursor.

MSDN claims that the dx ShowCursor function either shows or hides regardless of the previous calls. Do you use the win32 ShowCursor() function anywhere?
