I have Visual C# express edition and the .net redistributable installed. Do I need the sdk as well in order to build windows applications? the redist doesnt include all the necessary libraries etc.?

Visual C# 2005 Express will automatically install the .NET 2.0 SDK on your computer; you don't need to download anything else to start developing .NET applications.
