OpenGL Select object: help needed!

Hy everyone, I'm developing an app where I want to select and edit some points drowed in a 3d space(opengl) I have tried to select the points following two main ways: ->GL_SELCT ->gluUnproject to obtain mapped mouse coords What is the best and simplest way to perform this job. Please someone help me. Thankyou in advance. Mirko

on www.gametutorials.com is a good link about it. Also in the red book there is an example using GL_SELECT if I rememeber right.
Quiet a long time since I did selecting, so this may ba "ancient".

The gluUnproject way seems the smarter, since you are not limited ( I think GL_SELECT is limited to ??? selectable objects). Depends on what/how much you have to select.
