changing resolution

Lets say I start the program with a resolution of 480X640, is there a way to change it to lets say 600X800. I mean, is there something like a reverse viewport function that instead of returning the resolution changes it? Is there another way? Thanks.

Resolution changes are handled via the operating system, not openGL. ChangeDisplaySettings & SetWindowRect on windows.
