There are many .MOD files at Mod Archive and if you want to convert from .MID to .MOD you can use ModPlug Tracker to import MIDI files and export them as either .IT (Impulse Tracker), .XM (Extended Module), .S3M (ScreamTracker 3), or .MOD (Protracker).

Be careful becuase a Protracker .MOD file is limited to only 4 sounds at a time while the others can have more. Also, .IT and .XM have support for instruments with more than one sample and some filters and other features that will make converting from them to .MOD very difficult. My suggestion would be to keep the files in .IT or .XM format and find a player that uses those file formats.

There is no "easy" way to convert midi to mods.

Midi is messy - sloppy timing, which means when you try to convert to mod it will create a LOT of channels to make sure the events all get represented in the mod.

As others have pointed out MOD is only 4 polyphony/channels. It's a lot easier to re-make the mod from scratch than converting it.
