How does Ogre render SceneNodes.

I have been looking through the Ogre source code, and I am a bit baffled of how the render of scenenodes take place. I know that the position of the current node is in mDerivedPosition, but how it is rendered, is it translated from the orgin (0,0,0) by using something simular to glLoadIdentity() each time. Or from a previous object, and if so, how does it know how to do this (I can not think of any way). Sorry if this is a double post, this forum has been doing some strange things for me... I posted this yesterday, however when I refreshed the page, it said that I just deleted the post???

You're probably going to get a much more detailed explanation about it over on the Ogre forums. There's loads of great posts there as well about using the engine and I'm sure if this isn't a FAQ, it's pretty darn close to one. ;)
