Hi! I am using DirectSound for game audio. The problem is that every time I update listener's orientation (either Front or Top), all static sounds appear to have loud "cracking" audio artifacts when played. All is fine if listener's orientation is not being updated OR if secondary buffers are created as hardware buffers (limited number of them, not a good solution). Primary sound buffer and listener interfaces are obtained as in the DX9 help for 3D Sound. All static sound buffers are created with DSBCAPS_CTRL3D | DSBCAPS_CTRLFREQUENCY | DSBCAPS_LOCSOFTWARE (I need them all), and all have associated IDirectSound3DBuffer. I have tried many flag combinations, all without success. Any ideas what could be the solution here? TY!
