In the States, gas is still cheaper than most milk.
Gas has to be pumped out of the ground thousands of miles away, refined, shipped across the ocean and then by truck, and put back into tanks underground, and it's still less than $3.50 per gallon.

$2.74 a gallon. I'd get all smug to annoy the Europeans among us, but I don't really drive that much since I started working from home.

Diesel is currently around 1.10€ per liter (or 5.26$ per gallon)
At least I can drive as fast as I want on nearly half of our motorways ;-)

Sorry, copy/paste error. It's 1.30 for gas.
We're at $2.79-89 depending on where you are around here (the rural stations have to charge more) and the time of day. Sounds like it's pretty bad in some places.
Unleaded is $1.39 per litre, which is $1.02 US per litre (according to exchangerate.com).
