Hardware requirements for Half Life 2 modding

Hi, Can anyone help me estimate the hardware requirements for a mod for Half Life 2? I would want to do both the actual modding and the level building, including 3D Max objects creation and texturing with Adobe Photoshop. What sort of the hardware is the minimum needed that doesn't significantly stall me? I assumed that the following it would be a great decision: * CPU AMD Athlon™ 64 3000+ Socket 939 512K bus 2000 0.09u 1.4V 67W 64bit (1800 MHz) BOX (Venice) * MB Asus A8N-E, nForce4 Ultra, S-939, ATX 24p., PCI-Ex16 / 1xPCI-x / 3xPCI / Dual DDR400, U-DMA 133, S-ATA Raid, Raid 0+1, SB 8ch.&Lan 1000 on board * DIMM 2Gb DDRAM PC-3200 (400MHz - 2x200MHz) Corsair TWINX2048-3200C2PT CL2 (2-3-3-6) ( Kit 2 x 1024MB Low Latency ) * HDD MAXTOR 200 GB 7200rpm 8Mb Serial-ATA II 300 6V200E0 DiamondMax 10 with NCQ * VIDEO WinFast PX7900 GT TDH GF 7900 GT 256Mb DDR3 PCI Express (256bit) TV-OUT DVI Dual Display, SLI * POWER SUPPLY ATX 550W P IV TUV Antec TruePower 2.0 TP550PEC PFC Activ 120mm Fan - Temp. Auto Control 4 SATA connectors * MOUSE LOGITECH G5 Laser Optical Mouse USB 400-2000 dpi OR RAZER Copperback * SB CREATIVE AUDIGY X-FI Platinum 7.1ch., 24-bit/96KHz, PCI, internal rack, remote control * Loudspeakers CREATIVE INSPIRE T7900 7.1 92 W RMS Subwoofer lemn si 7 sateliti Wired Remote Control * Wacom Inspire A6 graphic tablet (or Graphire) I intend to add an old hard disc (the same with above) for a RAID 1, and buy a better CPU when AMD cuts prices in July. Perhaps a 3500+. The monitor is an old 21 inch Dell I already have. Is this overkill if I don't want to wait (too much) after the computer?

Any ideas?
I dunno. That's probably more powerful than the machines the developers used to build the game in the first place, so you should be fine.

I will move it to the mods forum to see if they can help more.
That is almost the exact same system I'm using and yes, it is more than powerful enough to do HL2 development with. The only place you might run into issues with is your GF card, but HL2 was built from the ground up for ATI cards and if your GF card happens to work then it happens to work. I ran into this problem with my nVidia Quadro FX300... HL2 doesn't just plain run slowly, none of the pixel shaders work at all! It sucks donkey balls.
