exporting bone rotation data from 3ds

Hi yall, Please help me solve this problem. I have animated my bones in 3ds using IK, I now want the rotation data of each bone in the animation keys but I can't get it(instead I only get the key 0 rotation data), what I get is the rotation data of the IK. How do I get the rotation data of each bone or how do the pros extract this info? Thanx ALOT for your help.

Even though popular demands seems to suggest otherwise, the "pros" don't really use 3DS as a model format. Generally, they use a custom-written exporter for 3DS Max to save models in their own proprietary data format.

However, Googling for "3ds file format" turns up a number of results you might want to dig through if you are really set on using the format. You might be able to find your answer there.
