MD2: identifying animations

I'm making a game that relies heavily on scripts, and I want to let users load md2 models through scripts. I've just implemented most of an MD2 loader and renderer, which can load and render any frame of an MD2 file, and that's working fine. However, I have hit something of a block when trying to tackle the animations. I haven't been able to figure out how animations are delineated inside of MD2 models, so I can't make any function calls like PlayAnimation(3) (or better yet, PlayAnimation("walk")). If it turns out that there is no delineation built into the format, I can just require users to define the animations themselves with frame numbers, etc, but is there a way to do this without additional input? Thanks for any help~ Riley
